Our focus was the security work that needs to accompany AI adoption. In our company’s WAIC update, we described three connected priorities: defending against AI-driven attacks, securing AI deployments and applying AI-powered detection to strengthen defence. These priorities connect assessment, protection, monitoring and digital risk management. K Ocean LinkedIn
Protecting organisations as threats change
AI-enabled threats make it useful to review the systems, identities and information an organisation exposes. For Hong Kong businesses, a practical starting point is to agree which assets matter, assess relevant weaknesses and establish who will act on the findings. Testing should produce evidence that technical teams can review and use to plan remediation.
Making security part of AI deployment
An AI project also needs decisions about the information it can access, the actions it can take and the people accountable for its use. Those decisions shape the scope of AI security assessment and governance. Technical testing and organisational controls address related questions, and both deserve attention before a deployment expands.
Supporting detection and response
AI-powered capabilities sit within a wider operating model. Teams still need suitable telemetry, reviewed findings, clear escalation routes and agreed response responsibilities. The value of a security tool depends on how it fits that environment.
We thank Cyberport for supporting our participation and everyone who visited the pavilion to discuss AI security. As a Hong Kong cybersecurity company and current Cyberport incubatee, K Ocean continues to help organisations connect risk assessment with practical improvements to their defences.
